BIO

Germán Prieto - Piano

My musical career started when I was 5 and since then I have evolved till the present time with my own way of appreciating music and teaching, always getting focused on the piano environment.

I completed my Licentiate Degree at the Royal Conservatory of Music "Victoria Eugenia" in Granada (Spain), developing a way to work fully the Piano through consciousness. It supplied me with autonomy and self-criticism to reach every purpose but always to pursue a constant learning, rewarded in every step.

Along my life, I've done many Musical Stages with renowned national and international artists and teachers like Vitaly Samoshko, Guillermo González, Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden, Piero Rattalino, Leonid Margarius, Franco Scala, Ana Guijarro, Marie Françoise Bucquet and Javier Perianes among others.

I won First Prize at Piano Competition "Ciudad de Orihuela" (Alicante, Spain), First Prize at Piano Competition "Eduardo del Pueyo" (Granada, Spain) and Special Prize by the Popular University from Albacete in the XXXII Piano Competition "Ciudad de Albacete" Edition (Albacete, Spain).

A musical career is developed day by day through two important ways for me: Education and Stage.

It's in Education where I have experience for 11 years working at Musical Schools, Academies and also in many Conservatories of Music from Andalucía (Spain) as Piano Teacher, Chamber Music Teacher and Accompanist.

I currently work as Seminario de Altos Estudios Musicales - Stage® Director and Piano Teacher, SAEM-STAGE®, which has born from my own day by day experiences and concerns in Education and Professional environments. Surrounded by great Musicians and Physical and Mental Professionals, we work together with intensity to give Consciousness, Autonomy and Love for Music as main values to each Student.

Regarding the stage, I've grown up on it since I began playing Piano to the present time as Piano Soloist, Piano and Orchestra and Chamber Music ensembles. Every performance is unique and requires a part of us. That's why it makes us to grow and allow us to learn new details and stories about the place where we play in, expanding the performer's limits as well as the public ones.

Enjoying each stage along my life, brings me new places to discover, for example some Spanish cities such as Granada, Málaga, Almería, Cádiz, Huelva, Sevilla, Córdoba and Jaén, just to Murcia, Ceuta, Madrid, León or Alicante, but also abroad as Verona, Gent, Brussels and lots of little villages storing pleasurable experiences.
